Luzviminda Keene

Luzviminda Keene Founder of MindaMusic | Pianist | Harpist | Artist

Luzviminda “Minda” Keene, is an Asian-American musician, educator and artist of Filipino and Scottish descent. She studied piano performance at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, under the tutelage of Edward Eikner. She continued her advanced piano training with Barbara Lister-Sink at Salem College, where she focused on injury-preventive techniques rooted in somatic practices. Minda integrated principles from the Alexander Technique, Somatics, and yoga into her playing and teaching, promoting healthy, mindful musicianship.
Her musical development also included piano study with Ruskin Cooper and, later, harp study with Patricia Pence Sokoloff learning the Salzedo technique.
Minda began teaching piano while at Salem College and in 2000 founded MindaMusic, a community-centered music school built on the belief that music education should be fun, engaging, and joyful to foster lasting success and confidence in students. She has been a dedicated private instructor for over 25 years. She enjoys teaching all ages.

After relocating to Dallas, Minda has participated in Cindy Horstman's jazz ensemble at Brookhaven College and is a lifetime member of the American Harp Society and the AHS of Dallas.  Minda has been an annual harp exhibitor at TMEA and was a speaker at the Annual Texas Music Educators Association Convention 2024 with Juan Riveros on, "Introducing Harp to Your Mariachi Program." She is on the board of the Garland Music Teachers Association and has been the GMTA Elementary Piano Ensemble Director at the Annual TMTA State Convention since 2024.  She performs regularly at special events and memorial services and continues to find joy in sharing her love of music through both mariachi harp performance and teaching.

"Minda's Daily Philosophy"
"To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave this world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or redeemed social condition, to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived, this is to have success."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Beth Rudy

Beth Rudy | Violinist
Based in Garland, Texas, Beth Rudy is a passionate violinist and dedicated music educator. Her journey with the violin began at the age of eight, inspired by the sound of her elementary school orchestra. With the support of her parents, she quickly began formal studies, taking both group classes and private lessons.
Beth’s commitment to music continued through her school years and ultimately earned her a scholarship to the University of North Texas, where she received a degree in violin performance. Her professional career has taken her across the country, with performances in Connecticut, Milwaukee, Denver, Dallas—and even the prestigious Carnegie Hall.
In addition to performing, Beth has a deep love for teaching. She works with students of all ages, from young beginners to adults, and strives to make learning the violin both fun and enriching. Her goal is to nurture a lifelong appreciation for music in each of her students.
